Maintenance Technician

Position Overview:

The key responsibilities of the Maintenance Technician is to perform daily equipment and building maintenance to ensure proper functioning and operation while adhering to company standards, processes and systems. Correct mechanical and electrical problems; perform preventative maintenance, as well as implementing upgrades and improvements for all company equipment and fixtures. The right candidate should have good knowledge of plumbing, welding, PLC, power transmission, industrial electronics, hydraulics/pneumatic and interpretation of blue prints.

Essential Job Functions:

  • Execute preventative maintenance and test programs per company guidelines.
  • Complete all repairs, modifications and installations as required.
  • Observe mechanical devices in operation for potential problems or issues.
  • Ensure all mechanical devices are operating in strict accordance with safety guidelines.
  • Read and respond to manufacture and company based equipment information.
  • Ensure compliance to all Federal and State responsibilities.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

  • Associate degree or equivalent from two year college or technical school preferred
  • Minimum of 3-5 years or the equivalent combination of training, education and work experience
  • Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions and procedures manuals
  • Ability to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios and proportions to practical situations
  • Productive attitude, customer focused and desire to work with coaches and co-workers
  • Prior Lean Manufacturing experience preferred
  • Food experience a plus

Physical Job Description:

Conditions: While performing the duties of this job, the associate is regularly exposed to mechanical parts and vibration; frequently exposed to risks of electrical shock, noise level is moderate, climate controlled production plant.
 
Equipment: Potential those tools both power and hand that would be used in maintaining equipment and facilities including but not limited to basic hand tools, electric, pneumatic, machine, welding, lifting and rolling stock essential to performing maintenance tasks.
 
Tasks: While performing the duties of this job, associate is regularly required to stand, walk, use hand to finger; handle or feel; reach with hands and arms; climb balance; stoop, bend, talk and hear; heavy lifting up to 100 lbs. Specific vision abilities required by the job include close vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.
