American Licorice Company takes our consumers' privacy interests seriously. This statement reflects our commitment to protecting information we learn from each visitor ("Guest") to our site.

Personal Information. The American Licorice Company web site allows for the collection of personal information from a Guest, including the Guest's name, e-mail address, home address, telephone number, and birth date ("Personal Information"). The submission of Personal Information is voluntary. By providing Personal Information, the Guest consents to the collection and use of such by American Licorice. American Licorice and its affiliates use the Personal Information for internal purposes only and to communicate to the Guest (and in the event of a Guest under the age of 18, the Guest's parent or legal guardian). Personal Information will not be traded, licensed, sold or used for external purposes without prior authorization from the Guest (or if the Guest is a minor, the Guest's parent or legal guardian).

Review/Correction/Removal of Personal Information. A Guest (or the Guest's parent or legal guardian) may review, correct and/or delete Personal Information by e-mail request to ems_amerlic@echopass.com. Guests may also opt out of receiving communications from American Licorice about offers, contests or new products by advising us by e-mail request to ems_amerlic@echopass.com.

Non-personal Information. This American Licorice Company Web Site may use "cookies" and may record certain non-personal information to help the site more useful, including but not limited to, what type of software the Guest is using to browse the Internet, the Uniform Resource Locator ("URL" or "web address") that the Guest visited before and after the American Licorice Company Web Site, the Guest's IP address and the Guest's Internet Service Provider.

For Minor Guests (Guests 13 to 17 Years of Age)

Personal Information provided by Minor Guests is collected only during the registration process for contests, product purchases or during the submission of questions or comments to the Company. When submitting Personal Information through this web site, Minor Guests are required to provide the e-mail address of a parent or guardian. American Licorice will send a message to the parent or guardian identifying the information supplied by the Minor Guest and allowing the parent or guardian to be aware of and participate in the Minor Guest's online experience. Personal Information of Minor Guests may be used for marketing and promotional purposes by American Licorice.

For Children (Guests under 13 Years of Age)

American Licorice encourages parents and legal guardians to visit the American Licorice Company web site with their Child or Children. No Child should submit Personal Information to American Licorice without the prior consent of their parent or legal guardian.

It is the practice of American Licorice to comply fully with The Children's Online Privacy Protection Act of 1998 ("COPPA") governing the collection, use and disclosure of personal information from children under the age of 13 (a "Child" or "Children"). Pursuant to COPPA:

  • Before collecting, using or disclosing a Child's Personal Information, American Licorice will obtain verifiable consent of the parent or legal guardian. Therefore, a Child or the Child's parent or legal guardian must provide American Licorice with the e-mail address of the parent or legal guardian. American Licorice will send a message to the given e-mail address to obtain the parent or legal guardian's consent to the collection and use of a Child's Personal Information coupled with some additional step (such as a sending a delayed confirming e-mail) to provide assurance that the person providing the consent is the parent or legal guardian.
  • The parent or legal guardian has the option to agree to the collection and use of a Child's Personal Information without consenting to the disclosure of the Personal Information to third parties.
  • The parent or legal guardian can, at any time, review the Child's Personal Information, ask to have it corrected or deleted and refuse to allow any further collection or use of the Child's Information. See the procedure under "Review/Correction/Removal of Personal Information" above.
  • COPPA prohibits the conditioning of a Child's participation in any activity on the Child's disclosure of more personal information than is reasonably necessary.

No Personal Information collected from a Child is used by American Licorice for any marketing or promotional purposes whatsoever. In the case of contests or promotions, a Child's Personal Information is used with the parent or guardian's verified consent only for the specific contest or promotion, unless deleted by the request of the parent or legal guardian. The Child's Personal Information is not retained after the conclusion of the contest or promotion except as required by law for record retention purposes. If a Child is selected as a winner in a contest, notification will be sent only to the given parent or guardian's e-mail address. If a Child submits a question or comment, the Child will be responded to only once with a copy to the given parent or guardian's e-mail address.
